About Me

About Me

Hello! My name is Madison, but almost everyone calls me Madi! I am currently a Senior at IUI majoring in Exercise Science on a pre physical therapy track. I grew up in Monrovia, Indiana and attended Monrovia High School. I currently work at IU West Hospital as a PRN technician in the rehabilitation department. I enjoy going on long walks with my pup and significant other, running, hiking, and hanging out with family and friends!

What Made Me Who I Am

What Makes Me Who I Am

College itself comes with a lot of stressors. There are many days when I feel like I am drowning in work, studies, and assignments. Physical activity has always been prominent and important in my life, but my love for it has most definitely spiked in college. Whether it is training for my first mini marathon or lifting in the weight room, physical activity has become my escape from reality. I value and prioritize taking care of my body, and I think I can bring that passion with me into the field of physical therapy to change many individual's lives. I want to educate and show others how important physical activity is, and I am eager and excited to get into the field!

Another important aspect of my life that I have appreciated and valued during my time here at IUI is staying involved. I had the opportunity to participate in IUI's campus tradition, Regatta. I met so many new people that to this day are still some of my best friends. College is such a huge adjustment in one's life, and I definitely think that the people you meet along the way contribute greatly to the experiences you have. I have definitely met my people here at Indiana University Indianapolis!

One of the most important things in my life that my boyfriend and I value more than words is our puppy, Bentley. We got Bentley during the spring semester of our junior years. I have wanted a dog since I was a freshman, but I never felt like I had the time a dog required. Once we finally made the decision to go pick him up, I quickly realized I had been wrong the entire time. Bentley has taught me how to slow down and appreciate life how I should be. He has given us a reason to get up every morning, step outside, and really value my surroundings and our lives. He has been a true blessing without even knowing it, and he has truly opened my eyes on how amazing life is.
